How To Become a Member of Trinity Episcopal Church
All people are welcome to attend Trinity Episcopal Church. Should you desire to become a member of Trinity, you're encouraged to call the church office for more information.
Normally there are two steps which any adult Christian takes to become a member of an Episcopal Church. First, she is baptized in the name of the Trinity. Because in our tradition most people are baptized as infants or children, the Christian will later confirm her baptism by presenting herself to an Episcopal bishop to be received into the church as an adult.
If you are already an Episcopalian, but your letter of membership is with another Episcopal parish, to become a member of Trinity all you need do is contact our office to let us know of your desire to join. Once you've told us which parish you're a member of currently, we will contact your former parish to transfer your membership.
If you are not already an Episcopalian, we ask that you attend an Inquirer's Class.
If you have been both baptized and confirmed by a bishop in another tradition, at the end of the Inquirer's Class you'll be received. If you have been baptized and confirmed in another tradition but not by a bishop, or if you have been baptized in another tradition but never confirmed, at the end of the Inquirer's Class you'll be confirmed, if you choose.
If you are an adult and have been neither baptized nor confirmed, after attending the Inquirer's Class we hope you'll consent to both.
This all may sound a bit complicated, but the basic rule is quite simple: If you're not already an Episcopalian we hope you'll attend an Inquirer's Class, offered twice a year, and allow us to present you to our bishop to become a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
